NRHSN: National Rural Leadership Development Seminar

Are you a leader? Or are you interested in improving your leadership skills?  Well the NRHSN in conjunction with the Australian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) are teaming up to bring to you the inaugural National Rural Leadership Development Seminar!  This Seminar will be held in Wollongong over 8-10 April, and will see over 100 handpicked allied health, nursing and medical students from across the country come together to gain professional development in leadership skills, specific to rural and remote practice. The NRLDS is designed to be an interactive “hands-on” experience for delegates where they will be able to gain additional skills to further them as professionals. This event will include keynote speakers, workshops and open floor sessions that will allow delegates to discuss particular issues current within rural, remote and Indigenous health in Australia. This event will also see the first student-run rural health roundtable, where delegates as well as invited professionals in the field of rural health can come together to address rural health workforce issues

The applicants answers to the selection criteria will be marked out of 60 (each question 20 marks) by the selection panel and ranked in numerical order. The top two applicants from each RHC will be selected to attend.  There will be additional spots for outstanding applicants.

All Together Better Health Conference

The NRHSN have been invited to host students from around the world at the ALLTogether Better Health Conference.  This conference is run by the Australasian Interprofessional Practice and Education Network (AIPPEN) at Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific on 6-9 April.  
The NRHSN and AIPPEN urge students to comment on what they would like to see at this conference through the student discussion board http://internationalhctc.ning.com/.  This discussion board has been set up to ensure that students can have input into the conference and so that they can connect with other student delegates around the world.
