Aim:
The Medical Student’s Association of Notre Dame (MSAND) strives to promote
and further the interests of medical student’s at Notre Dame.
MSAND recognizes the importance and value of students who strive for
excellence, contribute significantly to lives less fortunate than our own and
broaden their horizons beyond the lecture theatre.
Recipient selection, application and regulations:
This bursary scheme is offered to current medical students at the University of
Notre Dame Fremantle who are members of MSAND. Bursaries are available
under two streams to assist with the costs of:
• Professional development: This includes attendance, equipment and
other expenses for activities at seminars/conferences, work experience
and other activities the applicant can demonstrate will contribute to their
skills, knowledge or career development.
• Social justice: This includes equipment and costs for students working
in and contributing to communities and lives less fortunate than ours or
in areas of need.
In 2010, MSAND will offer a number of bursaries under the above two streams:
• Six individual bursaries of $250.
• One group bursary (three or more joint applicants) of $500.
Applications are considered based on financial need and how the applicant’s
cause, medical education or professional development will benefit from the
bursary.
All applications are to be made in writing to the Secretary of MSAND via forms
available on the MSAND website, and should include a cover letter with a brief
summary of the applicant’s cause and intentions.
Applications for 2010 are due by close of business on:
• May 28 for Semester 1
• September 24 for Semester 2.
